PHOTOS: President Obama pays San Francisco a visit

Boy, it was sure busy in San Francisco today.
Much of the buzz came from Union Square, where President Barack Obama is right now attending two fundraisers at the Westin St. Francis Hotel.
Streets surrounding the hotel were closed off for much of the day. Barricades were set up, MUNI buses were rerouted, and there was a significant police presence awaiting the President’s visit.
His motorcade arrived at the hotel around 6:20 p.m. Protesters from every group imaginable — Code Pink, Greenpeace, the healthcare folks, and even the 9-11 Truth Commission set up in front of the hotel hoping they would catch a glimpse of the President.
They didn’t. And Obama didn’t see them either. He came in through the hotel’s side entrance, away from the protesters.
Obama will stay at the Intercontinental Hotel tonight on Howard Street. He’ll leave the city tomorrow morning.
But the sight of the day was probably seeing all the San Francisco Police Officers wearing neckties along with their Class-A dress caps. You’ve got to look good when there’s someone important in town!
