Attacks on critical infrastructure start to smell alot like terrorism. Anonymous is certainly and without question a criminal organization causing great financial damages to it's victims. Now consider the definition of cyber terrorism presented to Congress: Cyberterrorism exists when unlawful or politically motivated computer attacks are done to intimidate or coerce a government or people to further a political objective, or to cause grave harm or severe economic damage.

I fully support Anonymous, for while I know their milder forms of civil disobedience are little more than brief pestulace to their victims, it at least draws public attention to the issues that motivate them.

Note that I neither support theft of private information nor destruction of property; nonetheless, I view DDOS (denial of service attacks) as a modern version of the 1960′s “sit in,” and think that such should be legal and protected as free speech.
