Armed man evades police in Oakland by running into BART subway tunnel

OAKLAND — An armed man being chased by police led officers into a BART subway tunnel Wednesday afternoon causing the transit agency to shut off power to trains at the Lake Merritt station.
The foot chase by BART and Oakland Police led to delays of up to 30 minutes for riders traveling in the East Bay because of the power shutdown at approximately 12:15 p.m., the agency reported.
Two men in a car were pulled over by Oakland Police officers at 11:43 a.m. when one of the individuals ran into a BART maintenance facility near East Eighth Street. The man, who police believed was armed, ran onto the trackway and into the Lake Merritt portal of the underground subway tunnel to evade authorities.
BART Police shut off power to the trackway as a safety precaution for pursuing officers. The Lake Merritt BART station was briefly closed while police searched for the man. He has yet to be detained.
The other man involved in the original traffic stop was arrested without incident.
The police activity created delays for passengers on the Fremont-Richmond line as well as passengers traveling to and from San Francisco. Service was restored to normal schedules by the start of the afternoon commute hour.

Must be another Black men again. Well, our country’s tax payers, resources, and productivities are used for these non sense people causing crimes, police searches, prision, corrections, and potential lawsuits.
That’s costly for America and America already broke and people from Katrina are settling in various cities. Crime rates increase and continue to get worse while our budget, job creation, and entrepreneurship have declined.
Education has fall behind, these people blame government again for their not ability to learn, apptitude to stay in the course, and success and productivity to society and man kind.
I think these people and culture inherated pretty much from their ancentry countries where robbery, looting, social disrupts, crimes, and violent assaults or kills are common daily things. When they were brought in this country, they still carry out this gene and practice generations after generations. I think we need to start depot certain population or groups back to where they suppose to belong.
Other groups are coming here make contribution to this country such as financial, technology, science, entreprenurship, education, culture, art, food, job, etc.
The immigration needs to do better job screening out countries and areas where certain groups are clean to this country.
