Two San Francisco Police officers helped rescue a 18-month old toddler who fell into the lobby fountain in the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero hotel Wednesday afternoon.

The toddler was reported missing by his parents at approximately 1:22 p.m. He was found two minutes later in a shallow fountain on the lobby level of the hotel, according to a police spokesperson.

Officers who responded to the call administered CPR to the boy and revived him. Authorities said he was taken to Saint Francis Memorial Hospital for treatment, but was transported to another hospital in very serious condition.

Police blocked off a part of the fountain area from guests and were investigating the incident, authorities said. The near drowning, they said, appeared to be an accident and that there was no foul play involved.
