A San Francisco Police officer was arrested and charged with two felonies, one of which was done while on duty, the department revealed Wednesday .

Officer Gregory Hui, 45, allegedly pocketed a vehicle registration tag after performing a traffic stop in January 2010 after pulling over a motorist who was misusing the sticker. Hui, who joined the department in June 2003, then later applied the sticker to a personal vehicle.

A man and a woman who worked at a San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf business that sold luggage and other souvenirs were shot and killed Sunday night, according to police.

Authorities responded to a shooting call at 269 Jefferson Street at 8:30 p.m. and discovered the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They were later pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

San Francisco Police requested the public’s help to capture a homicide suspect they believe is responsible for a double shooting that left one man dead in the Bayview District early Tuesday morning.

Investigators said Jonathan Walker, 21, shot and killed 19 year-old Robert O’Bryant inside a home on the 1600 block of Kirkwood Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A 29 year-old man was arrested by San Francisco Police Tuesday for the murder of a Sacramento woman whose body was discovered inside a burning car on the 400 block of Rose Street in the Lower Haight.

Police said Almon Johnson allegedly killed Vanessa Herrera in Sacramento before driving to the city and lighting the car on fire at 3:30 a.m. Monday. Firefighters were called out to the location after a nearby resident called 911 to report a vehicle fire in the neighborhood, authorities said.

Batts is competing with current San Jose Police Interim Chief Chris Moore — a favored candidate amongst rank-and-file San Jose officers — to head the police department in the city that coins itself as the “safest big city” in the country, the San Jose Mercury News reported Sunday evening.

San Francisco Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man inside a cafe on the 900 block of Polk Street in the city’s Civic Center area Thursday afternoon.

Police received a report of shots being fired inside the Jebena Coffee and Tea Company at 4:30 p.m. and arrived to discover a man in his twenties suffering from at least one gunshot wound, a police spokesperson said.

Two recent police shootings in San Francisco — one of them caught on camera by a bystander — have renewed calls by San Francisco Police Chief George Gascon to outfit the city’s patrol officers with Tasers.

Gascon told reporters during a Wednesday press conference following the officer-involved shooting of a man in a wheelchair at 10th and Folsom Sts. that the altercation would likely not have escalated if responding officers had an option to use the electric stun guns to detain the man.

Two San Francisco Police officers helped rescue a 18-month old toddler who fell into the lobby fountain in the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero hotel Wednesday afternoon.

The toddler was reported missing by his parents at approximately 1:22 p.m. He was found two minutes later in a shallow fountain on the lobby level of the hotel, according to a police spokesperson.

A memorial service for former San Francisco Police Chief Alex Fagan Sr. has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco, the department announced.

Fagan, who worked as a police officer in the city for 31 years before retiring after stints at the city’s 37th police chief and director of the Office of Emergency services in 2004, died after suffering a heart attack in London where he was living, the department said.

(10/9) — 09:15 PDT — SAN FRANCISCO — A shooting inside a Dogpatch neighborhood club left one person seriously injured early Saturday morning, police said.

Police said a 23 year-old man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound when another person shot him at the Cafe Cocomo night club near 19th and Indiana Sts. at 12:30 a.m.
