Budget

Now, this is probably a no brainer action before planning your next golf destination, but it has to be mentioned. Most golfers, those passionate ones, that see the destination they haven’t visited yet tend to go all-in when it comes to the budget. What we mean is that there is no plan for spending they just want to hit that one that they wanted for so long. This is not a good approach because the course is probably not that expensive, the accommodation can be managed but the spending on the course, club or all-around has to be planned because you will easily get lost in all your expenses.

Plan in advance

When choosing your next golf destination you will have to plan, and on some fields and places, you have to plan almost an entire year. These are the places that are usually highly sought out for and places that have a lot of traffic. If you are not going alone, if you have your buddies with you then try and be considerate about their timings with jobs, family, kids and whatnot. The perfect period to plan the golf destination would be 3 to 6 months in advance, which is the time that is easily remembered and manageable to follow through.

Tournament or free play

This is another thing you need to consider when choosing your next golfing destination. You have to think about whether you wish to join a tournament, meaning is their money involved in the game or you are simply doing a free play in the destination you picked out. It goes without saying that if you have friends with you on that tour you should inform them about those things as well. It would be rather uncomfortable for everyone if you picked a place to play that has a tourney on and no one besides you knows about it.

The side things

Now when planning for your new golfing destination try and look at what else is there around or in the club you opt for. Numerous destinations around the world have things you may be interested in before or after your game. You can opt for inland courses and have great views all around, you can go to the seaside like Hawaii and tour their courses as well as the beaches, you can opt for courses that have a combo of the golf course and resort where you can have fancy wine and dine time.

The distances

Another important thing that has to be considered is the distances between your accommodation and the course, or the distance between the course and the amenities, or the distance between the courses if you are planning to circle all that the location offers. This is important to plan because you will need to know if you need to hire a car to get from point A to point B, will the club you are in, or the course provide some sort of transportation to the courses, and when it comes to the sleeping arrangements you need to find the most central oriented stay so you can easily and quickly get to the green, to the amenities if you want to spend as much time as possible on the course and not driving around.

The facilities

Now several times we mentioned the golf resorts or clubs you will be staying at, and this is the thing you have to check good because you want the best possible accommodation for the money you are going to pay. It isn’t too hard to search these places these days and to be acquainted with what they offer and to know if the response from people that used these facilities is satisfactory or not. Take some time and look up every course, club and resort to be informed about the quality, prices, what they offer besides the golf and so on.

Weather

This is a bit of a difficult thing to plan and predict, but when you plan your next golf destination try to do it when the weather is the best for that. We do understand that weather is something you cant impact and predict to the fullest but at least try to avoid heavy rain seasons/days or very windy days whenever you are planning to go. Look for what other golfer said about your desired place and if anyone left a comment about when it is better to go, or when you shouldn’t go at all, based on their previous experience. This is something that will help you greatly, especially if you are limited on time. This way you will make sure that you spend most of your day on the grass instead of in your room or restaurant.
